Veronica and Jason planned a simple, playful wedding ceremony and reception at Lake of the Woods in Mahomet, IL. Surrounded by family and accompanied to the alter with their dog, Betty White, they exchanged vows in an intimate outdoor ceremony followed by a picnic and games reception. We often meet with couples who tell us they are planning a simple wedding but find they have been caught up in family and social expectations about how they should celebrate and end up with huge and decidedly un-simple (albeit beautiful) celebration. Veronica and Jason were laid back throughout the whole process and genuinely put together a simple and beautiful celebration that reflected their deep friendships, love for each other, and love for Betty White. We were honored that they chose to spend a significant portion of their budget on having us create lasting memories of their day.
There aren't a lot of hotels near Lake of the Woods and Veronica embraced the funky, retro vibe of the roadside motel where she got ready.
Jason surprised Veronica on their wedding day with a flamingo tie clip and flamingo socks--an animal theme that was repeated through out the day.
